We are committed to a dynamic and responsive understanding of the artistic and cultural heritage of New Mexico and its global context—past, present, and future—through the work we do at our Nuevo Mexicano Heritage Arts Museum (NMHA). During this pivotal year for SCAS, as we honor our past and look toward our next 100 years, we are turning to both our long-time supporters and newly inspired friends whose involvement in our community strengthens our work.

Philanthropic support for the Spanish Colonial Arts Society began in 1925 in response to the call from our founders who formed it partly out of concern that centuries-old expressions of Hispano heritage could disappear in changing times. This early support, and the support that followed by generations of donors, members, artists, and friends from New Mexico and around the world, has been vital to sustaining this 100-year-old organization. As we face our own era of change, we strive to honor our founders’ foresight and the work of all SCAS | NMHA supporters who followed by showcasing these irreplaceable heritage arts in meaningful and relevant ways.
